MEGAN'S FLUTTERBY FUND

WELCOME " MEGAN'S FLUTTERBY FUND" SITE has been set up in memory of Megan Bell who died aged 13 years of a life limiting condition. Megan was profoundly disabled and during her lifetime we had to fund raise to obtain lots of specialized equipment and other things such as switches to activate toys and computer. The purchase of musical instruments ,which the children find so exciting and stimulating. Bean bags, mats, lights, mirrors the list is endless. A lot of this equipment to enrich her life was not supplied by the Health Service as they do not fund for lots of these things. We too had help from our local community, friends and wonderful people who helped us do this .

We now have set out to help other families with children like Megan in her memory to have these things through her Fund. Our aim is to raise funds to help special needs and life limited condition children in our local community to be able to have as many of these things that we are able to help towards or purchase for.

Being specialized equipment can cost from as little as £30 for a switch to hundreds of pounds depending on the child's ability, but can make such a difference to the child's everyday quality of life and the joy and achievement it can bring by being independent for those short moments . Fibre Optic lights and musical instruments such as an ocean drum again bring such enjoyment but cost around a £1000 for lights and £80+ for the drum.

We hope you like our Blog and please feel free to post your comments and Thank you for taking the time to look .

UPDATE NEWS

Hi Everyone,

Firstly we would like to wish all our little sick ones GET WELL WISHES. Few of the children have had surgeries in past couple of weeks and doing well and we are all sending you speedy recoveries from your various surgeries. For those that are still poorly lots of hugs and kisses and we hope you are soon feeling better. xxx

We have two more requests and are awaiting delivery of those and one awaiting professional input so that is great news. For the families that would like things for the children please do contact us. The application form for a request is very simple and all confidential and only mentioned and pictures put on the site with your approval.

We are in the planning of things and once dates venues etc. are confirmed we will inform you if you would like to come along and say hello or participate.

We are trying out a selling page on face book under "OUR FLUTTERBY SELLING PAGE" there are a few donated items on there for sale and if interested just drop Anna or myself a message. They do have prices on but we will take offers. Not sure if it will work but will give it a try for a little while and if not will close and just put the items in the raffles and tombolas at our events.

On a closing note if there is anything that you would like for the children or advice and support please contact us. If we are unsure, we have lots of people we can contact to find out for you. We are well aware of how difficult and stressful things can be and are only too willing to help if we are able to take a little of the stress and worry away.

On that note I will say have a lovely week and lets all hope the weather improves slowly and we have a little sunshine and lots less rain.

Hugs to you all
