MEGAN'S FLUTTERBY FUND

WELCOME " MEGAN'S FLUTTERBY FUND" SITE has been set up in memory of Megan Bell who died aged 13 years of a life limiting condition. Megan was profoundly disabled and during her lifetime we had to fund raise to obtain lots of specialized equipment and other things such as switches to activate toys and computer. The purchase of musical instruments ,which the children find so exciting and stimulating. Bean bags, mats, lights, mirrors the list is endless. A lot of this equipment to enrich her life was not supplied by the Health Service as they do not fund for lots of these things. We too had help from our local community, friends and wonderful people who helped us do this .

We now have set out to help other families with children like Megan in her memory to have these things through her Fund. Our aim is to raise funds to help special needs and life limited condition children in our local community to be able to have as many of these things that we are able to help towards or purchase for.

Being specialized equipment can cost from as little as £30 for a switch to hundreds of pounds depending on the child's ability, but can make such a difference to the child's everyday quality of life and the joy and achievement it can bring by being independent for those short moments . Fibre Optic lights and musical instruments such as an ocean drum again bring such enjoyment but cost around a £1000 for lights and £80+ for the drum.

We hope you like our Blog and please feel free to post your comments and Thank you for taking the time to look .

SUMMER SEASON UPDATE

Hi Everyone,

Our update for over the Summer months is one of sadness. On July 24th our dear friend and trustee  Natalie Marsh lost her fight with cancer. The sadness that filled our hearts was monumental. Natalie was not only a trustee but Anna's  lifelong best friend, Megan's Godmother and a wonderful fun loving generous lady. Her loss will be felt by many for a long time and our thoughts and love  surround her two sons Nathan and Jarred, partner Darren and her family in the months ahead.
We will miss her so much. Natalie was on board right at the beginning of the start of Megan's Flutterby  Fund and was the quiet fund trustee, raising funds for the gifts for the children for the parties and attending out of her busy life schedule to help at functions and just generally muck in wherever we needed help. Rest in Peace Natalie you will always be close in our hearts forever.

Our other news is to say a huge thank you to Donna Marriott for her donation of £344.78p.
Donna started the rock painting off in Duston.  LOVE ON THE ROCKS DUSTON.  Donna and other artists painted rocks that could be purchased for charity plus others that could be hidden. It has been such an amazing time with everyone joining in painting rocks and hiding around Duston to find and then re hide. We would like to thank her and all the other artists that help raise this amount for 3 local charities, ours being one. You can find the link to this and the rock painting on Face Book Page Love on the Rocks Duston and will be able to see all the fabulous rocks and updates.

We hope you all have had a wonderful Summer and enjoyed your holidays and are looking forward to the Autumn and events that this season brings.

Much  Love to you from us all
MFFx
